MARINETTE, Wisc., November 20, 2021 – Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) 25, the future USS Marinette, took its next step when the ship’s sponsor, the Honorable Jennifer Granholm christened the ship by breaking a bottle of sparkling wine on the bow of the LCS 25 during a ceremony at Fincantieri Marinette Marine in Marinette, Wisconsin. Prior to the christening, the team led by Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) launched the vessel into the water on October 31, 2020. The LCS 25 is expected to begin acceptance testing next year.

Unique among combat ships, the LCS is designed to accomplish near-shore missions and is a growing and relevant part of the Navy’s fleet.
